research evaluation risks

Anses has published the list and abstracts of the 33 research projects it has selected for 2021 under its National Environment-Health-Work Research Program (PNR EST), for a total amount of 6 million euros. Among them, two projects concern manufactured nanomaterials, for an amount close to 200 000 € each:

  • the first one, entitled “FILTREUV”, will study and compare the discharge in bathing waters of UV filters used in sun creams composed of mineral nanoparticles and/or organic molecules, as well as their toxicity
  • the second, entitled “Nanomuc”, will study the interactions and their toxicological consequences between nanoparticles and the mucus of the lung, which is essential in the defense against environmental aggressions in the respiratory tract.

Four other projects will focus on the study of micro and nanoplastics.
