A report by a consulting firm (RPA) for the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) looks at product life cycle, waste recycling and the circular economy for nanomaterials.
Public information on nanomaterials is insufficient although very important for waste managers, scientists, regulators and consumers.
Research on the behavior and what becomes of nanomaterials in the environment is still too limited, as is the study of worker exposure in waste and recycling facilities. Finally, the challenges posed by nanomaterials for the circular economy are so far confined to a few academic studies.
