WECF calls for more transparency on nanos in cosmetics

The NGO Wecf France has published a report on women’s cosmetics: 47 makeup products were scrutinized (17 BB creams, 15 mascaras and 15 concealers). Titanium dioxide appeared in 16 BB creams, 9 mascaras and all concealers in the survey – only one concealer was labeled [nano].

WECF wonders: “could it be that some of them actually contain nanoparticulate titanium dioxide? Indeed, the DGCCRF regularly reports mislabeling of nanoparticulate ingredients during its controls of cosmetic products”. WECF reaffirms its support for mandatory labeling of nanoparticulate compounds.
