Towards the classification of multiwall carbon nanotubes

After last summer’s consultation, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has validated the classification of multiwall carbon (nano)tubes as carcinogenic by inhalation (cat. 1B).
This includes those with diameter ≥ 30 nm and < 3 μm, a length ≥ 5 μm and width/height ratio > 3:1.
