Towards the classification of multiwall carbon nanotubes

.

After last summer’s consultation, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has validated the classification of multiwall carbon (nano)tubes as carcinogenic by inhalation (cat. 1B).

This includes those with diameter ≥ 30 nm and < 3 μm, a length ≥ 5 μm and width/height ratio > 3:1.
