Synthetic amorphous silicas (SAS) are the second most common nanoparticulate substances in the French r-nano database, where are regisered produced and imported nanomaterials in France. They can pose health risks to workers who are chronically exposed to them. INRS is still looking for companies that use these amorphous silicas to better analyze these risks.
After a first (unsuccessful) appeal launched two and a half years ago, it has just relaunched a new appeal to companies in the n° 167 of the journal Références en santé au travail published this month. The sectors concerned are very varied: cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, paper and cardboard, rubber, plastics, inks and paints, varnishes, colorants, pigments, glues, etc.
