biocide nanosilver health precautionary principle risks vigilance

In an article published today by Nature nanotechnology, researchers from the University of Pittsburgh (USA) warn against the widespread use of silver nanoparticles in consumer products (washing machines, textiles, paints, …).

The use of nanosilver should be reserved for medical applications only in order to limit the development of bacterial resistance.
