- 30 May: AVICENN has joined the call by several European NGOs, launched at the initiative of ClientEarth, for greater corporate transparency and traceability of chemical substances, essential for promoting the reuse and recycling of materials and the growth of the circular economy. : “Future-Proof and Prospering: How ESPR and Chemicals Traceability Benefit Business and Support the Green Transition”
- March-April: Follow-up on the revision of the definition of nanomaterials in the “Novel Foods” regulation at the European level: first the adoption by the European Commission by delegated act mid-March, and then the objection by the European Parliament at the end of April
- 15 March: General Assembly of AVICENN
- 29 February : Response to the survey on nano-agrochemicals launched as part of a study for the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) requested by AVICENN in 2022
- 25 January: Participation in the ‘Research and stakeholders meeting‘ day organized by ANSES
- 15 January: The topic “Information on nano-enabled textiles”, proposed by AVICENN in 20231in partnership with 5 other European NGOs (BEUC, CIEL, EBB, HCWH, HEJSupport), in response to a call launched by the European Observatory on nanomaterials (EUON), is the subject of a call for declaration of of interest by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), for a study in 2024.
- 12 January: AVICENN’s feeback is sent to the European Commission’ for its consultation on its draft definition of the term “nanomaterial” in Novel Food regulation

- March 2022: The High Council of Public Health (HCSP) relays and supports AVICENN’s findings and recommendations in its Global Assessment of the National Health and Environment Plans (2004-2019)
- March 23, 2022: Participation in the workshop “Stay, Resist, Desert, Weed” organized by Atecopol, the Lyon Science Boutique, Ecopolien, La Fabrique des Questions Simples, Ingénieurs sans frontières, Klask, and Sciences Citoyennes, on the question of the meaning to be given to the professions of research and engineering in the face of the profound social and environmental upheavals that our societies are going through.

- February 8, 2022: Avicenn with 14 other NGOs, sends an open letter to the European Commission asking for clarification and improvement of its definition of the term “nanomaterials” (an initiative relayed by Chemical Watch)

- January 20, 2021: AVICENN along with twelve other NGOs, sends an open letter to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) requesting clarification on the regulatory framework and risk management measures in place at the European level on the monitoring of anti-covid-19 nano products.
2020
- December 17, 2020: Avicenn intervened in a training session “Nanoparticles: What are the risks for health and environment?” for the Departmental Committee for Health Education of Vaucluse(CoDES 84)
- December 9, 2020: Avicenn posted its contribution to the consultation on the draft PNSE 4 of the Ministries of Solidarity and Health and of Ecological Transition, whose Action 12 aims to “better managing the risks associated with nanomaterials in a context of uncertainty” the proposed measures are largely in line with the 20 proposals from civil society compiled by Avicenn in June 2019.
- December 1, 2020: Avicenn participated to the 11th ANSES nano dialogue committee (in video)
- July 9, 2020: Avicenn sent a registered letter to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Solidarity and Health to demand the release of the government report on nanomaterials in drugs and medical devices. This report should have been made public three years ago now, according to our 2016 health care modernization law. Read more here.
- June 25, 2020: Avicenn conducted a videoconference intervention for the Institute of Environmental Health Training (IFSEN) (module 6: noise, nanotechnologies and waste).
- 19 June 2020: Avicenn submitted a contribution to the consultation on the roadmap of the new sustainable chemicals strategy (“Chemical strategy for sustainability”) of the European Commission. Among the measures recommended: 1 – create a tailor-made regulation for nanomaterials; 2 – ensure the effective registration of nanomaterials; 3 – improve information on the presence of nanomaterials in products and on the associated risks; 4 – promote independent research on the risks associated with nanomaterials through a fund financed by the companies that import, produce or use these nanomaterials
- June 9, 2020: participation in the 10th ANSES nano dialogue committee (organized by Skype)
